How much does wedding catering cost in Barcelona?

It’s the first question couples ask us, and the honest answer is that it depends on three things. Once you know which three, you can set a realistic budget before you’ve written to a single caterer.

The three things that set the price

The format. A canapé reception in the garden, with trays passing between guests, needs more service staff per head than a buffet. A seated three-course dinner adds plates, glassware, linen and a team to serve and clear between courses. Most weddings combine the two: canapés during the drinks, a seated dinner after. Our canapé menu and dinner menu show the two ends of that range.

The venue. A masía with a working kitchen and a road to the door is simple. A beach in the Maresme or a rooftop with no lift, no water and no power means we bring everything: mobile kitchen, refrigeration, generator, equipment. That shows up as staffing, transport and logistics, not as food.

The guest count. It matters, but less than people expect. Above roughly twenty guests the price per head flattens out, because the fixed costs are spread across more plates.

What a wedding around Barcelona usually looks like

Masía or villa wedding — drinks and canapés on the terrace, dinner in the garden or the courtyard, a chef on site, the bar running late. We coordinate with the venue manager.

City wedding — a rooftop in the Gothic Quarter or Eixample, a standing reception, sharing platters or a seated dinner for a smaller group. Access and timings matter more than the menu.

Beach wedding on the Maresme — ceremony at sunset, canapés standing, an informal dinner of sharing platters. Logistics weigh more than the menu here.

Pre-wedding dinner or proposal — a small group, a private chef, a tasting menu. Many couples book this for the night before.

The season runs from May to October. June and September are the busiest months.

How far ahead to book

Summer weddings are confirmed six to twelve months ahead: the venue first, then the catering. If you’re marrying between June and September, aim to have the catering confirmed before Christmas.

How to get a number quickly

Send four things through the quote form: the date, the guest count, the venue (or “masía near Sitges” is enough) and the format you have in mind. We reply within two working days with a menu proposal and a quote. If the budget is fixed, tell us: it’s easier to design a menu to a number than to guess one.

Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free guests are part of every menu, not an extra. Tell us how many when you enquire and it’s built in from the start.
